
A scroll-back 'Oxford' pattern armchair in ash and birch.
Of sculptural form and a rare, primitive example of the vernacular chair-making style that flourished in the Thames Valley & Chilterns during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Structurally sound and in good condition. Still showing lashings of madder paint.
Two of the legs have been tipped approx 3 cm in height and the seat has several wormholes that are inactive and treated.
