An English high stick-back Windsor armchair in ash & elm - attributed to Lincolnshire.
Interestingly the ring turned turned front legs, turned front arm supports and chamfered slab seat are in elm, the rest is in ash.
Small wooden pegs and nails have been driven through the arm bow, back bow and seat to secure the back spindles and elliptical underarm supports - excellent craftsmanship and uncommon in Windsor chairs.
The remnants of green paint are still visible on the underside and in-between the sticks.
Stands well, supported by its pronounced crinoline stretcher and tapered back bow.
English - c.1800-20
H: 97cm / W: 57cm / 45cm / Seat H: 45cm
